A deeply dystopian and utterly thrilling tale. In the spirit of Cormac McCarthy, The Removal is achingly accurate in its portrayal of humanity at its worst, and its very best. A cautionary tale for our time; brimming with fascinating characters both real and imagined. I highly recommend it to one and all. (And, I loved that it is clearly Canadian and set in a part of the world I know well.)

The book was compelling from start to finish. It wove together intrigue and mystery with themes of science, love, loss, and death in a way that felt both thoughtful and immersive. What could have been a harsh, even garish premise was handled with remarkable delicacy by the author. Without giving anything away, I found myself immediately invested, curious to see how the story would unfold. At moments, it challenged me, especially from a feminist perspective, but those tensions ultimately contributed to a deeply satisfying reading experience. The resolution was beautifully done, even if it wasn’t what I initially expected. In fact, that unpredictability made it all the more impactful. I truly loved this book. Well done! I’m looking forward to reading what others thought of it.
